SCM L'invincibile: the "intelligent" spindle moulder

With eight patents, the SCM L'invincibile spindle moulders boast the most advanced woodworking machinery technology available. The SCM models TI2600 and the TF2400 L'invincibile spindle moulders are fitted respectively with an electro-spindle that can be inclined by ±45.5 degrees and a vertical electro-spindle. The standard supply of both these spindle moulders also includes the electronic "Vanguard” tool detection system. This highly effective software is the machine's operational intelligence that ensures it can be used safely and efficiently – even by less experienced operators.
The "Vanguard” monitoring system can, in fact:
- indicate which programs have been saved for the tool identified
- establish the maximum speed for the tool identified
- establish the maximum travel for each axis so as to avoid collisions
- and indicate a system of coordinates for the tool identified with the option of defining a second origin, or a new "machine home”, on a point of the profile of the tool selected by the operator.
The automatic identification process structured in this way guarantees:
- a higher level of safety for the operator as it avoids any potentially hazardous situations caused by mistakes, like setting data incorrectly (such as axis positions and rotation speeds) or choosing a work program that is unsuitable for the tool installed on the machine
- that the machine is easier to use as the axes can be positioned without having to make any calculations or create programs for occasional machining operations.
The Vanguard monitoring system operator interface uses the Window's operating system and consists of an easy-to-use 12.1ins or larger LCD colour touch-screen.
